Mechanical Draftsperson/Technologist

Applicants should possess a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology and be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.  The successful candidate will up to 5 years of progressive engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.  Familiarity in the design and drafting of machined and steel fabricated heavy equipment and/or material handling equipment is a definite asset.

Demonstrated decision making, problem solving, analytical, mathematical and team player skills as well as showing initiative to take on added responsibilities are desirable attributes.

Typical skills desired:

·         Machine design and drafting (AutoCAD & SolidWorks)

·         Research new design concepts, materials and processes

·         Investigate and suggest cost reductions measures

·         Manage engineering changes

·         Check/approve/print/PDF drawings

·         Organize and issue drawings to production control

·         Source and select vendors for purchased component

·      Create and maintain reports and documentation on all activities
